The Amazon Web Services Australia team in Sydney had bowls coming in for lunch today, and it was exactly the kind of order that works for a busy office midday. Fourteen bowls across four options, covering the kind of spread of appetite and preference that a tech workplace tends to have without anyone needing to coordinate too hard about it.
The Hot Honey Chicken Bowls went out in the highest count, five of them, which usually tells you something about what people are drawn to when there’s a bit of heat involved. The Beef Bibimbap came in close behind, and together those two carried the bulk of the order. The Tuna and Cucumber Salad Bowls kept things lighter for four of the team, and two Vegan Falafel and Beetroot Tahini Bowls rounded things out on the plant based side.
With a team this size ordering individually rather than as a shared platter setup, the bowls format meant everyone got exactly what they ordered without any of the usual lunchtime negotiation.
