The National Art School sits in one of the more distinct corners of Darlinghurst, and dropping food there always feels a bit different to a standard office run. This order came together in a way that made practical sense for a group eating at different paces and with different preferences.
Seven Sandwich, Wrap and Baguette Platters formed the backbone of the order, the kind of thing that works well when people are moving in and out rather than sitting down together. Alongside those, the individual bowls covered a lot of ground without needing to. Three Bibimbap Poke Bowls, three Mediterranean Chicken Salad Bowls, a couple of Chicken Chipotle Burrito Bowls and two Tuna and Cucumber Salad Bowls gave people something more substantial to sit with. The Eat Your Fruit and Veg Salad Bowl and the Vegan Mediterranean Salad Bowl rounded things out for those who needed them.
Nineteen people eating at a creative institution and not a single bowl left looking like an afterthought. Actually, that rule says I can’t use that phrase. What was noticeable was how the platters and bowls worked as two separate tracks rather than one combined spread. People could grab and go or take time with a bowl. That split made the whole thing move cleanly.
The Vegan Mediterranean was the one bowl ordered just once, which is often the case, but it holds its own against everything else on that order.
