Navy Diversity & Inclusion held an event in Mosman recently, and the food order was built around sharing rather than individual servings. Two platters of fruit skewers anchored the table alongside the grazing platter, giving people something to reach for without needing to sit down. The artisanal cheese platter sat well next to that, the kind of thing that holds up over a longer gathering where people come and go at different times.

The sweet side of the table had its own momentum. Mini brownies and mini sweet tarts meant nobody had to commit to a full dessert, which tends to suit these kinds of events where conversation takes priority over eating. Sixty three compostable plates, forks, and napkins were included, so the team had everything they needed on the day without any additional setup.

The fruit skewers in particular were ordered in double quantity, and that ended up being the right call for the number of people moving through.
