Amazon Web Services Australia had a lunchtime order come through for their Sydney office, timed for 12:15 and sized for a proper midday sit-down. The kind of order where you can tell the person placing it has done this before.
The sandwich and baguette platters carried the bulk of the lunch, with six of the former and five of the latter covering the table without doubling up on the same thing twice. The wraps platters added something a little lighter alongside that, while the Chicken Vietnamese Platter brought a distinct flavour to what could have otherwise been a fairly safe spread of bread-based options.
What made the order interesting was how thoroughly the snack pods were factored in. Eleven pods between the falafel and hummus option and the hummus and veggie version, plus a Vegan Mediterranean Platter, meant plant-based guests were genuinely catered for rather than pointed at a corner of the table and left to manage.
Offices that order at this scale usually have a good read on their headcount and dietary mix, and this one clearly did.
