CEW, hosted out of Sydney‘s WeWork, put together a lunch order that was clearly built around a crowd. With 170 plates and forks going out alongside the food, this wasn’t a casual desk lunch. It had the feel of a proper sit-down event, something that needed to run smoothly from the moment it was set up.

The Chicken Vietnamese Salad came in both platter and individual bowl form, which made sense for a group where some people were likely eating on the move while others sat down properly. The couscous, pumpkin and feta platter sat alongside it as the kind of option that holds well and doesn’t need much fussing over once it’s out. Seventeen wraps covered anyone who wanted something they could eat standing.

Two seasonal fruit platters rounded things out, and the Sweet and Savoury Bites Platter looked like it was positioned more toward the end of the meal than the beginning. The wooden cutlery and BioPak plates told their own story about how CEW approached the event. No waste, no fuss, everything compostable and counted out precisely for the number of guests expected.
