Coal Services Pty Ltd had a simple morning order come through for their Sydney office, and sometimes simple is exactly right. Assorted pastries for fourteen and a pack of ten fruit skewers. Nothing complicated, but the combination made sense for a morning meeting where people are eating while doing other things.
The pastries handled the bulk of it. Buttery, substantial, the kind of thing that keeps people going through a long agenda. The fruit skewers sat alongside them and did something the pastries could not, kept things feeling light and easy to grab without interrupting whatever was happening around the table.
It is a pairing that works because the two items serve completely different purposes. Nobody needed to stop and think about food. It was just there, ready, and out of the way.
