Combined Services RSL sub-Branch needed catering for a gathering in Sydney, and this one covered a good stretch of the table. The sandwich and wrap platters came in four, which made sense given the numbers, sitting alongside the sushi and rice paper rolls and the cocktail rolls and chicken and mushroom pies. Finger food that moves around a room easily, nothing that needs plates or cutlery to manage.
The southern chicken tenders and vegetarian curry puffs and filo pastry platter gave the savoury side some real weight. Fruit skewers and mini sweet tarts handled the sweeter end without being heavy, which suits a mid-event pace well.
The two cold pressed juices, one built around apple, orange, beetroot and carrot, the other around kale, celery, ginger, apple and lemon, were a small but considered touch for a group that clearly had a few different preferences in the room.
