The Indigenous Literacy Foundation team in Sydney had a full afternoon ahead of them, and the food needed to hold up across it. Fifteen sandwich, wrap and baguette platters covered the bulk of the eating, giving people something substantial to come back to without the whole thing feeling heavy or repetitive. The seasonal fruit platter sat alongside as something cold and easy to reach between conversations, while the vegan Mediterranean salad gave the table a bit more substance for anyone not touching the bread.

What made this order practical was how the three elements balanced each other without any one of them dominating. The salad in particular worked well as a standalone option rather than just a side, which matters when a team is made up of different dietary needs and not everyone is reaching for the same things.

The fruit platter was almost entirely gone before the wraps were finished.
