Octagon’s office in Surry Hills had a full spread of people to feed, and the order reflected that. Two artisanal cheese platters and two Italian antipasto platters formed the backbone of the savoury side, with the cocktail rolls, chicken and mushroom pies, and spinach and ricotta filo pastry all circulating alongside them. Thirty individual tropical fruit cups were ordered too, which is always a practical call for a standing event where people are moving around and plates aren’t always in hand.
The sweet side was generous without being excessive. Mini profiteroles, a tartlets platter, mini sweet tarts, and a large morning and afternoon tea platter gave people plenty to return to across the course of the event. Tongs were included across the setup, which keeps things clean and self-serve without anyone having to think about it.
Drinks covered a lot of ground. DA-SH sparkling water in grapefruit, lime, peach, and raspberry, cold pressed apple and orange juices, and kombucha in four flavours including cherry plum, peach, ginger lemon, and lemon lime mint. The kombucha in particular tends to disappear quickly at Octagon events.
